I usually ship to my friends US address in Vermont and make the drive from Montreal to pick it up.

But I do my best to steer away from buying anything in the US especially with current FX rates!

    Good tip!

Are there such options for Albertans?

If you are in GTA, get a mailbox at Cbi, which is not a box per say as there is alway someone there. Even if you declare the watch you will save money compared to insuring a shipment over the border.

I live near the border of BC and Washington. So I had my BLNR delivered to a friend in Seattle. Drove 2 hours to picked it up. Left the box and wore the watch upon crossing the border.

Few months later, came back to retrieve the box with Omega on wrist just in case.

this does not always work well......if those packages are reviewed by customs you may get a call from the CBSA asking about the watch. PM/email me if you want to know how I "know" this.

Please read the following CWC link:

You can be questioned coming back across the border with a expensice watch. If you don't have a receipt they will may hold your watch.
When I travelled to the US from Canada with my Rolex, it is safer to fill out a CBSA form prior to going to the US. They take the serial number. When you come back , you have the form in case you are asked. I said 'in case'. Especially if you are going over for an hour or two. Best of luck.
