For sale is my late 1970s Heuer Skipper 11650V, an exceptionally rare and highly desirable regatta chronograph from Heuer’s golden era.
The Skipper 11650V is celebrated among collectors for its bold nautical design and deep connection to Heuer’s sailing heritage. Originally created to time regattas, the Skipper stands out with its vibrant tri-colour countdown sub-dial and unmistakable maritime aesthetic. This reference—produced in very limited numbers—has become one of the most sought-after vintage Heuers, especially when found in honest, original condition.
The serial number places this example to the mid 1970s.
The condition of this watch is exceptional given its age. Everything is all-original, the case retains strong lines, and the dial is in excellent condition with rich colours and no blemishes. The original hands have developed a beautiful patina that collectors love—warm, natural ageing that perfectly complements the dial and adds to the watch’s character.
Powered by the Heuer-modified Valjoux movement, the watch runs smoothly, keeps good time, and all chronograph functions operate as they should. The watch will also come with its original Heuer pin buckle.
What makes this piece particularly special is that it is a one-owner watch. It was purchased NOS in 1997 and includes its original papers (undated) and receipt from a Canadian AD. Because the watch had been kept NOS at the dealer for nearly 20 years, the AD supplied the original owner with the newer-style box and warranty card at the time of purchase. The orange service manual shown in the photos is the correct original documentation from that period. I can't seem to find a skipper kit as complete as this one.
Don't miss out on this piece of history.
