This is Rolex’s second generation of their Turn O Graph model. The Ref. 1625 was first introduced in 1953, and received the moniker “Thunderbird” after one of the pilots of the USAF Air Demonstration Squadron, which was the first supersonic aerobatic team, wore it. It eventually became the team’s signature watch, and ever since has become one of Rolex’s most sought-after and collectible watches. Further details below:
