Up for grabs is a rarely seen variant of the staple pilots chronograph from IWC.
Coming in at 42mm, the watch wears incredibly close in terms of comfort and legibility to the current 41mm generation.
Lug to lug is about 52mm, with the infamous IWC lugs turning down steeply to hug the wrist. On my 7.5” wrist the watch wears akin to a 41mm timepiece.
With a granular matte black dial, and AR coating to both sides of the crystal, the dial feels almost palpable.
Unlike the current and outgoing generations of the pilot’s chronograph, this model stays true to its tooltastic roots and retains more of a no nonsense instrument aesthetic.
The alligator leather strap has a lot of life left though it has seen some wear in its course.
The luxurious touches with the polished chamfers on the case and bezel sides serve as reminders that this is not just a tool watch but something more.
The watch comes complete right down to the tags with the box , manuals , warranty card
Running at +4s a day and amplitude over 310, it won’t need a service for a long time and functions, sets and resets like it should.
Condition is overall very good with the satin brushing intact, minor marks around bezel and a tiny fleabite on the bottom right lug.
