Up for grabs is a watch you don’t see everyday.
This example was recreated as part of an anniversary edition, limited to only 600 pieces worldwide. This, is number 123/600.
The watch has the minor wear marks to the non crown case side and very faint hairlines to the crown side.
At first glance it appears identical to the 1967 62GS, the first automatic watch from the brand, that is until you handle the watch.
The hour markers and hands, in true GS fashion are diamond cut and polished to a black polish.
The dial features a subtle sunburst finish that appears off white to silver depending on lighting.
Powering the watch is the 9S65 movement featuring a 72 hour power reserve
At 37.5mm x 42mm with a 12.9 mm thickness, the watch is extremely wearable, even on my 7.5” wrist.
The sapphire crystal is slightly domed and features AR coating for added legibility.
Understated elegance, this watch is a dream to wear, whether at the office or on a casual night out.
Paired with the watch is a Delugs strap and included is a GS service pill.
For its age, the watch is in excellent condition, with the above noted signs of wear and runs smoothly at +8s a day.
Comparables are over $6k for similarly presented examples and over $7k as full kits.
