Hey folks
Up for grabs is a watch that rarely pops up on the secondary market and possibly one of my favourite chronos of all time.
The Grey Side of the Moon has an entirely grey ceramic case, that is finished just as expertly as its steel counterparts, which is no small task given it is cut out of one piece of ceramic.
The dial while simple is aesthetic, is not one to be overshadowed and fashioned out of Platinum with a grained texture, almost akin to moon dust.
This piece comes on a gusseted grey leather strap and paired to an entirely ceramic pin buckle, also finished with a mix of brushing and polish, an attention to detail I’ve come to appreciate from watch brands.
Thanks to the ceramic case, the watch is and will remain in pristine condition, unless you decide to use it as a hammer.
More versatile than the Dark Side series, mainly owed to the grey ceramic appearing steel like in some lighting, it’s also more utilitarian with its entirely lumed bezel, and lumed crown.
To top it off you’re treated to blackened white gold markers and handsets with an oddly long lasting lume for such a small surface area.
The 9300 movement is a tank and features vertical clutch, column wheel system that is a true joy to actuate, also running at a staggering -1s/day with an amplitude over 300.
Coming in at 44.25mm x 49.8mm x 16.4mm with a 21mm lug to lug, I’ve often been asked “you sure this is 44mm?” When someone tries these one ceramic series as the watch wears similar to a 42mm watch thanks to the shorter lug to lug and lightweight case - weight is 100g
This watch comes as a full set with double box, manual, wallet, warranty/picto card and hang tag.
Retail when available just shy of $18,000 pre tax
I’m asking $9425 shipped from the GTA
.
