Up for grabs is one of the most “unfathomable” bang for buck high horology pieces I’ve had the pleasure of owning.
This Fifty Fathoms model featuring a brushed Titanium case on sailcloth strap
Is references 5015-12B30-B52B
It comes as a full kit with no real signs of wear except some minor marks on the bezel (can be seen just above the crown)
The bulk of wear is in the sailcloth strap that has some life left in it but could likely use a replacement within the next year.
At a 45mm case width, the dimensions seem intimidating, however due to the shorter lug to lug, it wears more like a 42mm watch.
At 23 lug width, an artem sailcloth would be a viable replacement option.
The bezel action on the watch is crisp, sure and has zero play whatsoever, precisely what you’d expect from a watch at the near 20k price point.
The 120 hour power reserve will let you plow through your work week and play with the weekend beaters and welcome you back to the daily grind on Monday, should you swing that way.
The party trick lumed bezel is a fantastic add on to a watch that set the bar for all its successive imitations and with a clear legible dial boasting Arabic cardinal markers, this could very well be the one dive watch in anyone’s collection, however with an MSRP of nearly $25000, or $18,300 USD, this timepiece carries a hefty ask, however, with my 50% ask of $11,995 it is a much more viable option than any submariner, seadweller or the likes.
