Up for grabs is my ref A17314101C1A1 Navitimer 8
The sunburst blue dial is on point and subtle enough that it comes off as a pale blue in some lighting, black in others and a saturated royal blue in shaded areas.
Paired on the bracelet, it is every bit a pilots watch, though restrained. Legible at arms length and chronometer certified for those split second decisions, it’s everything you need in a tool watch and then some.
The stripped down design is unconventional for a Navitimer, yet contemporary while being familiar.
In an age where ceramic bezels have become the norm, the satin finished bezel with polished notches adds a touch of flair to an otherwise tool like aesthetic as does the chamfers in the case edge.
Now discontinued, this is not a watch that screams luxury, but is purposeful in design and worthy of an every day timepiece with the most useful complication, the date.
The watch is in overall excellent condition for the age, with the most wear to the clasp, caseback and one small scuff on the bezel near 5, 15 and 25”, the former two only noticeable at some angles.
The watch comes as a full set as pictured.
