Kurteti
SUPER SPONSOR
Hey folks,
Up for grabs is a rather special offering from Grand Seiko to commemorate the 25th anniversary of their 9S movement.
The watch is in excellent condition with a couple links showing some signs of surface wear, other than that there are no bother blemishes worth mentioning.
At 37mm the watch fits well on my 7.5” wrist, albeit a bit small for my taste, however the intention behind this is to stay true to the 1998 SBGR001 that housed the original and first 9s movement.
The applied gold GS logo along with the blued seconds hand counterbalances the pearlescent dial, that has proven incredibly hard to capture in pictures, in true GS fashion.
The 9S family of movements are crafted in the Shizukuishi studio which overlooks Mt Iwate, an imposing, snow-capped peak that emerges from surrounding clouds at daybreak, which is where the inspiration for the dial originated.
The beauty of the watch does not stop there and continues once you flip over the watch and are presented with the titanium oscillating weight that boasts a sky-blue color achieved through anodic oxidation.
The watch retails for $8900 plus tax, I’m asking $7150 f2f in the GTA, or at cost shipping.
