Up for your consideration I have one of Grand Seikos newest and cleanest spring drive models, the SBGY013, which draws its inspiration from the original light blue dial variant “Omiwatari”

The model like its predecessor eradicates the power reserve indicator (heat blued) on the dial and flips it on to the 9R31 movement, which is a manual wind Spring Drive. visible through the caseback.
The dial texture draws inspiration from the snow covered Lake Suwa and the ridge formed in the ice, from one side of the lake to the other.
This is by far one of the most well balanced dials that I have had a hard time capturing in pictures given the silver tones bouncing off the dial.
The heat blued seconds hand is a must for a clean canvas like this and while grand seiko is known for their dial work, this bracelet is a marvel to behold and wear.
Akin to a beads of rice bracelet in terms of comfort, the links lay flat and the 9 piece construction are a feat of engineering, and thusly comfort.
If there is one Grand Seiko that must be owned and cherished, it is this marvellously thin beauty that comes in at 38.5mm, 10.2mm thick and 43.7mm lug to lug.
Wear it as a dress watch, wear it casually, or wear it bed; whatever you do you’ll have a lot more fun doing it with this masterpiece accompanying your journey.
The watch is in near mint condition with maybe one or two negligible hairlines near the clasp.
This is a full kit, double boxed and sized for a almost a 8” wrist.
Retailing for $11,700 the price tag is not for the faint of heart, but as always, I aim to make it more accessible at $9,250 f2f in the GTA or plus shipping.
