Hey folks,
Up for grabs is my M.A.D.1 in red, a watch by MB&F but not really an MB&F.
I say this reservedly as the watch, and its avant-garde aesthetic, is an eye catching conversation starter and despite the size at 42mm and height of 18.8mm, it still retains the charm of what got most of us into horology with a healthy dose of fun.
What Max Büsser has done for the watch community with this release is nothing short of a gesture of access into the DNA of the brand without the price tag.
The process of procuring these models via the lottery system is one of my favourite aspects of the purchasing experience and despite not engaging in the same, I respect the endeavour to keep things as fair as possible.
Innovative in both design and layout, the watch is also the horological equivalent of a fidget spinner, allowing you to enjoy the simplistic whir of the three bladed rotor, while satisfying the itch of the needless crown turning in which we all engage
Powering the watch is the inverted automatic Miyota 821A caliber, 60-hour power reserve
The watch is in near mint condition with no discernible signs of wear and despite what one might think, is incredibly light owing to the significant space to accommodate the hour and minute discs.
The watch comes as a full set including box, wallet, UV light and QR pamphlet
Retail would have run you approx $5300 delivered after duties and tax.
I’m asking $4999 in the GTA and have yet to find one as cheap.
