FS Vintage 1969 Rolex Submariner 5513
I bit of a story here : This watch belongs to a good customer of my retail store here in Victoria. He brought the watch in for me to view after he told me about a watch he bought back in the 1960’s in Montreal. I was surprised to see this vintage Submariner on his wrist when he came into see me. He currently wears a two tone Sub, so after much discussion he decided he no longer wears this Sub and would like to sell. He is retired and not a collector of any sorts so I advised him the CWC would be the best place to list for sale. Being I just bought another Rolex I was not in good conscious able to make him a serious offer myself but agreed to help.
So what he remembers is the watch was bought in Montreal 1969 from a local jeweller. The serial number on the watch is a 2.4 million and its a ref # 5513 ( which can be seen on the Rolex receipts ) The watch has been serviced a number of times, always with Rolex. He brought in paper work from 2000 and again in 2003. The 2000 service had a bezel insert replaced and 2003 service had the crystal and folding clasp on the bracelet replaced. Date code on the bracelet clasp is from 2002 which makes sense. Clearly at another service ( he is not sure when) they replaced the dial and hands. Not sure if that dial gives any time stamp on when its from. The folded bracelet ( 11 links) is marked 9315 original, with 280 end links also original. There is stretch on the bracelet as seen in the pictures. He currently is looking for more paperwork on the watch and just might have the original box in storage. He remembers a green watch box in his storage unit. The watch is running strong , no issues , although I have not timed it. Condition is noted in the pictures.
So what we have is a nice vintage Rolex 5513 with service dial/hands/bezel that has been well cared for by its owner and Rolex Canada. And YES he was property scolded by me as bad form for letting Rolex change the dial, hands etc and not asking for them back !

Crystal has some light scratches
lugs look good
no case damage I could see, only light scratches as you would expect from wear.
as with service the case has been polished
I’m not the vintage Rolex expert but I tried to represent the watch as best I can from what I have been told and what I could see. I am placing my reputation on this deal that this watch is authentic and 100% Rolex.
