Up for sale is a Canadian purchased, A. Lange & Sohne Datograph in 18kt rose gold. This is the pre Up/Down version.
The case measures 39.00mm in diameter with a height of 12.80mm and is fitted with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal on the front, with a sapphire exhibition case-back. The case has a high polish bezel and case-back with a high polish center and features polished, pronounced curved lugs. The dial is made of pure silver displaying central luminous Alpha hour and minute hands with offset sub-seconds between 8 and 9 indices. The 30 minute totalizer is offset and located between 3 and 4 with a central chronograph timing hand. The quickset patented outsize date is located at the 12 o’clock position and seen through an 18kt rose gold date frame. All hands, index and Roman markers are 18kt rose gold and hand placed.
This timepiece features A. Lange & Sohne calibre L951.1 which has a three quarter mainplate constructed of untreated German silver and is decorated in Glashutte Ribbing. This calibre consists of 405 parts and measures 30.60mm in diameter. The movement operates at a frequency of 18000 semi-oscillations per hour with 40 working jewels and a 36 hr power-reserve. The bearing jewels are set in gold chatons and secured by thermally blued screws. The movement also features a Whiplash precision index adjuster and a hand engraved balance cock. This timepiece comes with its original black alligator strap with oem Lange 18kt rose gold tang style buckle.
