Here's an interesting one. I quite like it but I have too many "weekend" watches and this one won't get much wrist time.
This is a Wakmann Racetimer built by Torsten Nagengast. He's taken vintage watch movements and encased them in high quality modern cases. This one is powered by a manual wind vintage Baumgartner movement. It's a pretty good looking watch with strong wrist presence. About 40mm wide and 13mm thick.
The flyback movement in this one is a little different. It has the traditional start/stop pusher at 2 o'clock and the flyback/reset pusher at 4 o'clock. But unlike a traditional flyback where you'd hit the reset to have all of the chrono functions flyback and reset to zero, the minute and hour subdials run independently from the sweep seconds hand. These subdials are reset by the pusher at 8 o'clock and are otherwise always running. The watch was designed as a "racetimer" to time an entire race. You would reset the subdials and chrono seconds hand at the start of the race so the subdials would record the entire elapsed time. But you can use the sweep seconds with flyback function independently to time the distance between cars for example. Or if you had a 100M straightaway you could use the flyback and tachymetre bezel to measure the speed of individual cars. It's quite a throwback to when races were actually timed by hand.
This is brand new 100% with box and warranty card in my name and dated Jan 2014. It is #63 of a run of only 139 watches. He retails them for EUR 1,490 (which would be CAD$2,265 with today's fx).
