From Grand Seiko’s Sport Collection, I’m selling my SBGV245, affectionately known as the “Grey Beast” (and also “that watch that glows!” according to my daughter). I am the 2nd owner and this specific piece was purchased from a GTA-based CWC member in early 2020. The watch was originally sold in the US in 2019 and has since been discontinued by Grand Seiko.
Movement: Seiko’s amazing 9F82 quartz
Case width: 40mm
Lug-to-lug: 47.1mm
Case thickness: 11.8mm
Strap: nylon with 3 fold clasp
The watch was worn by the previous owner, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed wearing it in rotation. As you’ll see from the photos, this is not a safe queen but has nonetheless been treated with love and respect. The zaratsu polishing does not mask any imperfections. All edges are still crisp and the polishing remains intact except for some nicks on the bezel edge at the crown.The next lucky owner can wear this without the guilt of marring the perfection of the watch finishing.
(Aside, how do you GS wearers keep your watches so immaculate? Bubble-wrapped wrists isn’t a cool thing where I live…)
Timing remains accurate and as one would expect from the 9F quartz movement. In fact, I use it to set the time on the other watches in the box. +- 10 secs per year according to GS, which translates a very small number that I cannot figure out without a calculator.
The watch was worn by the previous owner on the standard strap and it shows some wear and creasing. I have worn it on everything but the stock strap; the clasp is just not comfortable on my wrist.
While the website shows a 19mm lug width, I have worn on 20mm straps and the drilled lugs makes changes easy.
(Note that the leather strap pictured is NOT included).
This is a full set that includes the outer white sleeve, all boxes, cushion, protective plastic wrap, cloths, all hangtags, booklets and warranty.

I’m pricing as a good condition, worn watch that wasn’t sold in Canada (as far as i know). This was one of my first CWC purchases and would love for this to stay north of the border and within the CWC community. Please reach out with questions about the watch.
