For sale is this minty 1972 Bulova Oceanographer. All original and serviced in fall 2016, it's keeping fantastic time (+4s/day) for a 45 year old watch. Never polished and with no dings or dents on the case.
This piece has a lot to love; Swiss automatic movement, 40.5mm turtle case, bakelite bezel, high domed acrylic crystal, cross hair dial, plateau markers and tritium lume. Earning the 'Devil Diver' nickname due to the 666ft. water rating, these watches have been steadily appreciating over the past years. And with all the red accents on this model it's arguably the coolest 666ft. reference available!
The original owner bought this watch on a business trip to California in 1973. I purchased it from his son in summer 16' and had it serviced and regulated in the fall (really should've taken a picture- the in-house 23 jewel movement is immaculate). He'd had his family name engraved on the caseback at some point. My watchmaker said it's able to be buffed out, but I decided to leave it as it's part of the watch's history.
Priced nicely at $900 plus shipping from Ontario. Taking a bit of a loss on this one but sudden car issues mean it's gotta go quick. Thanks!
