I am located in Ontario, and for sale is my 1959 Rolex GMT Master. It has a 1066 calibre movement, 6542 case, and the case back is stamped III 59. The dial, crystal, and bracelet were replaced in the early '70's. The bezel and insert were replaced more recently with aftermarket items.

I would also like to sell with the watch all of the documentation that I have. I believe it is all original, but not to this particular watch. Here is a list of the items:

One Canadian 1958 Rolex/Tudor sales brochure.
One embossed green Rolex passport holder.
One blank superlative chronometer guarantee booklet.
Three blank guarantee foldout booklets.
One blank chronometer certificate.
Two timing certificates from two other Rolex watches.

Here is a link - https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=3181CD9E9EF9AB3C!308&authkey=!ALHGpT5X-pvKw9g - to photos of the watch and listed documentation. Sort them by name for some semblance of order.

Asking price for the watch and listed documentation: $6,000 CDN

Sorry folks, too many wishy-washy buyers on this forum. the watch is headed to a dealer in Toronto, so you can pay an inflated price for it there in a week or two.

You said the dealer offered you a lower number because their were relacememt parts, then you replied to me when i asked you how did you know they were replacement parts with: i dont know, that was 40 years ago.

You are selling a vintage Rolex, you live in Peterboro.

It will be hard for you to sell your watch online and acquire e trust when you are not certain of what you are selling, nor can you answer an imperative question. You are best to have it serviced at Rolex in Toronto, have them take a look at it. Spend a few bucks on service, then you get a warranty like receipt that could help you find a buyer, and also get a higher buck.

If you had taken the initiative and looked at the original post (which I have added below, so make sure to look down), you will see that I provided all the information I have. And I also know that trying to sell something of this nature sight unseen online, makes people, including myself as the seller, somewhat wary. The interested parties who actually made offers once I did post the watch, both backed out of making a deal, even though I had offered to meet at a place of their choosing, preferably a watch dealer / jeweler that they trusted who could confirm what I was selling to them was in fact what I said it was.

I wanted the watch sold, and a Toronto dealer paid me $2,500 cash for it today, which tells me the watch may be worth double that. The two best offers I had for the watch (without the documents that I offered as well) from members of this forum was $2,900 and a box of frozen shrimp from one, and, I quote, "I'm somewhere in the low 3's" from the other. I understand that people change their minds all the time, but I was out of time as far as the offer from the dealer went and it was a guaranteed sale for really not much less than the sale I thought I had made re: the $2,900 offer.

Well, at least I like doughnuts, which is more than I can say for the watch selling experience . . .
