For sale is a beautiful Wittnauer-Longines Vintage Chronograph ref. 3256 14w from 60s. Original unpolished case, screw-back caseback, beautiful Alpha hands and gorgeous Bombay lugs, blue-red tachymeter accents. Also has drilled lugholes for quick strap changes, the hands are blued-steel which look stunning. Watch will come with a black leather strap, brand new milanese bracelet, brand new blue handmade saffiano strap worth $80 alone.
Specs: 36mm in size, 18mm lugs, 12mm thick, 46mm lug to lug. It wears beautifully. All this is powered by a Venus 188 caliber with a column wheel. The watch style is reminiscent of old Rolex pre-Daytona Cosmographs. In 1995*Swatch*broke the 125-year collaboration between Longines and Wittnauer and took over the Longines distribution and in that span, Longines-Wittnauer made some stunning watches.
Things it needs: new crystal $50, new caseback gasket $10, movement service$350-$400, pushers because they show a sign of wear $100. Watch stops and resets. All this should be fixed for 550-600 dollars. I can recommend you a place where to get it fixed. Once the watch will be put back to its former glory, it will have a value of 1400-1600 dollars.
Reason for selling, i cant keep them all [emoji21].
I am listing the watch for a fair price of $600, since it needs some work. I paid 900, so guess who losing out [emoji854]. I got the watch to fix it but my collection keeps on growing and i need to condense some watches.
Beautiful watch with heritage and history alongside Longines. Terrific value for money. You won't see many people rocking a vintage Wittnauer Chrono. If you are a sucker for manual wind chronos, this is for you [emoji41].
