This is a very uncommon Favre Leuba Bathy 160 from 1966. This particular watch was a true innovation in the watch world. It was the first mechanical dive watch to be able to register diving depths. Favre Leuba was able to design a watch which could translate increasing water pressure into a depth reading. Incredible yes, especially when you consider that they did this 50 Years ago.

If you like massive vintage tool watches then you need to add this to your collection.

Overall this watch is in great condition, showing some signs of age.

The orange is incredible - I receive more compliments on this watch then on any other watch that I’ve ever owned. My understanding is that the orange face allows for high legibility under extreme dark diving conditions.

The case is massive, measuring 43 x 48 x 15.5 mm

I believe that dial, hands and bezel are original. The hour and minute hands have likely been relumed at some point.

The depth gauge hand is a NOS replacement. This orange dialed variant usually has a black depth gauge hand. The blue dialed variant of the Bathy 160 and the Bathy 50 had Red depth gauge hands which is present on my watch. When I bought this watch years ago it had a replacement hand that was very thin and was not correct. It took me years to find this red one, I suppose the new owner could easily paint it black if they desired.

Please note: the depth gauge hand or the depth gauge mechanism needs an adjustment. The depth gauge hand moves more freely than it should.

The bracelet is an NSA and was purchased NOS. I’ve mounted it to watch and it’s been worn a few times.

Service history is unknown, but the movement is clean.

Dial clearly displays the “Aqualung US Divers” symbol as well as markings for the decompression stages

The unidirectional rotating bezel is in great condition.

I tried to take pictures to accurately capture the current condition of the case, dial, movement etc..

Price: $4,000 USD or $5,600 CDN which includes PayPal and shipping within Canada and CONUS

Watch is sold with the NSA bracelet. The custom grey ostrich strap can be included for an additional fee
