Hey folks
Up for grabs, is a truly badass timepiece, with some serious functionality.
Unbeknownst to most, and a largely overlooked lineup from IWC, the Aquatimer presents an accessible and robust option to the dive watch category.
Throw in a chronograph complication, with a FLY-BACK function and you got the best of both aviation and submersion in one wholesome and badass package.
The yellow pops of colour on the chrono and sub seconds hand are clearly legible at any angle.
The case is rubber coated in a complex vulcanization process adding a grippy non slip texture to the watch.
Measuring at 45mm, and 16.9mm in thickness, it seems large until the relatively short lug to lug of 50mm makes it feel like a 43mm timepiece.
The bezel is just as unique as the rest of the watch, featuring an internal/external rotating bezel with SafeDive system which allows you to grip the bezel at any position and rotate without letting go. The water-resistance in this timepiece is 300m and is suitably paired with generous super luminova on the handset, markers and sub seconds hand.
Powering the watch is the 89365 cal with 68 hours power reserve with an incredible accuracy of -3s/day.
The watch is in overall excellent condition with the rubberized coating essentially functioning as high tech bubble wrap.
For less than the price of an SMP300, you are getting a high functioning, highly complicated timepiece that will keep up with all you ask of it.
The watch comes as a full kit with box, papers, manuals, minus the original warranty card. I was told this model was a 2021 example by the previous owner but cannot confirm with any degree of certainty, though it can be registered on the website.
Retail on this model is $15,100 plus tax.
I’m asking almost 70% off retail at $4750 shipped from the GTA
