Up for sale is my Rolex GMT 16710 Pepsi, K serial. The set comes with everything except the punched warranty papers. Comes with both inner and outer boxes, booklets and manuals, leather pouch with calendar showing 2001-2002, and both hand tags, with the green hand tag showing the serial “K971114” and the case reference “16710 BLRO” and the bracelet reference “78790”. Both serial on the case and bracelet match those printed on the green tag.

This was a one owner watch since 2001. I purchased it from a dealer in Toronto, who sells at the IWGJ show every year in Ft. Lauderdale. He purchased it at this past show in Jan 2018 from the owner, who was from Florida. And I bought it from him in early Feb 2018.

The two things that stand out about this watch are the pink insert and the rare fat font serif insert. The insert has faded to a perfectly consistent pink colour. So perfect that it looks as if it was originally a blue and pink insert. The one compliment I always get about this watch is regarding its pink colour. Its an incredibly different look than the conventional blue and red insert. Lastly, the insert is a fat font serif dial insert. Much has been written of these inserts on the Rolex Forum, and how they were only fitted on some of the early 2000 years’ 16710s. The lugs are super thick and the chamfers are still clearly visible. Its been an everyday wear for me and telling perfect time as per COSC spec. The one thing about this watch is its extremely fun to wear and has a very robust feeling to it. The solid bracelet links and end-links of the 78790A bracelet give it quite a heavy duty feel.

$11,000. Lowering the price and answering several questions in this bump. 1) The watch does not seem to have ever been polished. I say that with conviction 2) Everything is original to the watch 3) The insert is not a service insert like you see on many of the GMTs that are 15-20 years old. Its the original fat font insert that came with the watch 4) The watch is telling absolutely perfect time. No need for a service at all 5) No scratches or marks on the case, crystal or bracelet. The watch is in near mint condition 6) No bracelet stretch at all. Which can indicate that the watch hasn't been worm much over the years

SOLD. I'm gonna miss it badly. One of a kind. Will never see an original pink insert on a neo-vintage GMT like that again. Thanks CWC member for a very smooth deal, and thanks to this great forum for the opportunity to pursue this addictive hobby.
