Today I have for sale a Seiko SNR025 watch with a charcoal black dial, spring drive and GMT function, that is in very good condition. Although not referred to this way by Seiko, it is essentially their new Landmaster.
The watch was purchased in February 2020, so the three-year warranty has expired. It includes the original box and all paperwork, including the stamped and dated warranty card from a Canadian dealer. For transparency, I did send it in for warranty work because the time wasn’t setting properly, but it has been working flawlessly since it was returned.
The titanium case and bracelet have super hard coating to minimize scratches and scuffs. The case is 44.8 mm wide, 14.7 mm thick, 50.8 mm lug to lug, 22 mm lug width, with 200 metres of water resistance.
This watch uses the 5R66 spring drive movement, supposedly an undecorated Grand Seiko movement, that keeps amazing time within about one second per month.
The SNR025 is a GMT watch with a yellow jumping hour hand with small yellow numbers on the dial to easily track two time zones. The yellow hand tracks the second time zone and is easy to identify with a quick glance at the dial. The rotating compass bezel can be used to track direction while on world-wide adventures.
The sapphire crystal which makes for perfect viewing of the charcoal black dial. It also has amazing Seiko luminous indices and hands, making it very easy to tell the time under any conditions, with the date at 3 o’clock.
The titanium bracelet has an adjustable diver’s clasp, similar to that on the MM300. Also included is a Hirsch Ayrton black carbon fibre strap (retail price C$139) with yellow rubber underneath that shows on the sides and matches the yellow on the dial. This strap is oddly rated as waterproof to 300 metres, which has been worn but shows no sign of wear. Also includeed is the Seiko travel case in which the watch was returned to me after service.
The overall condition is very good. To my aging eyes, there are no marks on the case but it has been worn so assume there are some light marks. I am a bit ham-fisted during strap changes, so assume there is some scarring on the underside of the lugs. The bracelet has been sized for my 7.5 inch wrist and comes with one additional link; the bracelet has light scuffs on the diver’s clasp and twelve o’clock side of the bracelet from all of my desk-diving adventures.

This watch is up for any adventure, able to fit under a jacket, but also works great on vacation so you can track home time with the GMT, find your way out of the jungle using the compass bezel, or for those less intense days around the beach or pool with 200 m of water resistance.
Retail price for this watch is C$6500 (plus tax). The only comparable used model for sale that I could find was on EBay for $3900.
This amazing Spring Drive watch with the bonus strap and travel case can be yours for only $3500 plus shipping. Local F2F transactions are always welcome.
If you are thinking of trying a GMT Spring Drive in titanium at a good price, opportunity is knocking!
