So, picked up a skx033 off Kijiji which was sold as mint, but in another city (so didn’t see in person). Received the watch and it was not in mint condition. I’m posting here to see if anyone is interested in this watch in its current state.
I paid $330 including shipping, and hoping to recover as much as possible.
The watch runs fine from what I can tell. It’s in great physical condition for its age. The issue is that it came with the bezel off the watch. When I tried to pop it back on, it clearly does not stay on. Early diagnosis is that it needs a click spring, possibly a new bezel gasket, and I guess worst case, a new bezel. The hands seem to have less lume then the rest of the watch. I’m not sure if this is typical of the 033 or not.
I’m not into repairing watches at all, but perhaps someone here doesn’t mind talking on a minor fix.
The watch comes on a seiko jubilee, with the extra links, as well as the original bezel insert. No B&P.
Take a look at the pics and feel free to ask any questions. It’s a beautiful watch. Amazing size, and a nicer dial IMO than the 007/009.
