Up for sale today is a beautiful Omega Automatic Seamaster featuring a rare black dial. As many of you know, many of the watches from the 80s and earlier featured light-coloured dials. To see an original Seamaster in this condition from the 1950s with a black dial is a rare treat! The watch has stunning wrist presence and features original crystal, case, crown, dial, and hands.
Dial: Omega Automatic Seamaster with Silver omega logo and Silver Arabic numerals at 12, 4, 6 and 9. Silver Arrow indices at 1,2,4,5,7,8,10,11. Dial is a textured black and is divided into quadrants by silver lines. Beautiful patina on dial and some minor fading. Condition: Very Good
Crystal: Authentic Omega dome crystal, crack at 10 o clock. Otherwise clear. Condition: Fair
Case: 35mm with crown. Omega 2848 4 / 2848 snap back case. Unpolished condition. No scratches, or gouges. Minor ding at 8 o’clock lug. Minor swirls from regular wear. Original Omega crown. Overall Condition: Very Good
Movement: Omega automatic 501. The Omega Constellation Collector blog notes "The 500 series ... has proven over time to be the most precise and indeed the most celebrated movement series in the history of the Omega company. The success of the series 500 owes much to its tremendous reliability and a number of ingenious improvements.” Movement timed and keeping time well. Service history unknown. Overall condition: Very good.
Strap: Black Croc-print Italian leather strap with unsigned stainless steel buckle.
