I am new to this forum. I have been on the general Rolex forum with the same user name. I am a Watch Collector and have many modern and a few vintage Rolexes. I work in Hamilton Ontario and I am a healthcare provider. I am hoping to sell this vintage Rolex as well as another vintage Rolex in another listing because I would like to purchase more modern Rolexes. I prefer the weight of the more modern Rolexes to these vintages and so I did not enjoy these vintage Rolex is as much as I initially thought. I had trouble with a few other listings previously last week in this forum and I apologize for this. It was just my inexperience. I am willing to provide any photos or angles or views of the watch if they are not posted. All the documentation I have on the watch is listed.
Based on the serial number (2724XXX) I know that it is from 1971. Last three numbers not disclosed for security reasons of course. The watch was serviced from Rolex Canada and has a two-year warranty from the date of service as the picture states until 2022. I asked Rolex Canada why the GMT hand does not move separately from hour hand and I was told that does not happen in watches from that era. Also, the upper bridge was replaced (BRG AUTOMATIC MODULE UPPER 1570) as it was explained to me that the bridge the watch had when I sent it in was not made for that watch. Now the correct one is inserted. The bracelet is an oyster bracelet 7838/358.
The dial is original as well as the date wheel and all hands and case. It does have an open 6. Also, I believe this is the LONG "E” version but not 100% sure. The bezel insert certainly looks new and although the original owner did not disclose that it was a service insert on the bezel it looks like it is. In addition to this, because there is a lume present from a watch that is that old I am told that the dial may have been relumed. Regarding the polishing of the case, I am not sure if it was ever polished however I know that Rolex Canada did not do any polishing of the bracelet or the case when it was serviced. It fits my 7-1/4" wrist. Plenty of room for adjustment.
I am asking 19,000 Canadian for this watch shipped. I am happy to meet in person as well however due to safety and security reasons we would have to come up with a suitable agreement so that it is safe and fair for both the buyer and the seller.
