I originally purchased this 2012 watch in 2013 and sold it to a CWC member with a large collection. Worn rarely over the next 4 years!!!
Taken back in trade by me early this summer, and quickly sold to another local buyer. A few weeks after purchase the bezel spring failed, and the watch was sent to Blancpain for replacement. Buyer wasn't patient enough to wait for its return, and traded it back to me recently.
Back from Blancpain today! The spring failure was a common issue on this model. The spring was not robust enough and eventually it would give way, allowing the bezel to rotate both ways. Ironically, many guys thought that it was normal for the watch.
The watch was pressure tested and timed electronically earlier this summer, and it was running like a top. This has been confirmed by Blancpain while in their possession.
There are light scratches on the polished parts of the case and caseback... (hard to see in my photos) consistent with light wear. There is a ding at the end of one of the lugs which happened sometime this summer. There are some flea bites on the edge of the bezel that likely occurred during the process of removal and replacement by Blancpain.
I will rate the watch at 90%, though most would be more generous.
In any case, it is a fabulous watch, with an amazing 120 hour movement. It is very versatile on the sailcloth strap which you can swim with!
This is a full kit, originally purchased at a US AD by a Canadian and imported into Canada. None of that documentation follows, but the warranty card does indicate that the buyer is from a Canadian city.
These are getting increasingly hard to find at Canadian dealers. I have a friend on a waiting list locally for a new one, MSRP I beleive is $17,900 in Canada.
$9375 on your wrist to any address in Canada, by fully insured Fedex overnight.
A real pedigreed diver... don't miss your chance.
Cheers!!
