Hajime Asaoka Chrono Tokyo AHCI Independent watch maker
Very rarely offered watch by one of the 29 member group of the AHCI Independent watch makers.
Hajime Asaoka is Japanese Independent watchmaker, Highly regarded for his abilities to make spectacular watches. His theory of making an entry level watch was simple. His quote:
“It has always been my wish to make my designs more accessible to a wider audience and especially those that are just starting out in watch appreciation, or as a compliment to their existing handmade Hajime Asaoka atelier watch”.
The “Chrono Toyko” watch offered here was a limited edition watch only offered through a retailer in Japan called Tic Tac. These like all other of his watches were sold out upon its release. Asaoka designed the dial on this watch, the case was made by the same company as Grand Seiko uses and the movement is the highest end movement made by Myota.
So if you are looking for a very rare watch by a legitimate watch guru and don’t want to pay the massive price of most AHCI models, this is the watch for you.
There are many articles on this watchmaker if you google him. Perhaps one of the most popular independent watchmakers of today…. If nothing else a very interesting read on many of his watches. The version of this watch totally made by him called the Tsunami has a 15 year wait list. They are selling for $40K usd from him direct. He has been making a different variation of dials for this Tsunami watch in a 50 piece limited series.
This watch the “Chrono Tokyo” was made in limited edition series of 50 pieces per dial variation. Only available through Tic Tac the department stores in Japan. This was the first series (champaign dial) and they have sold out many dial variations already.
This 37mm highly polished (not repolished) has an amazing dial, designed by a AHCI watchmaker and comes complete with the small box and the Tic Tac papers…. It is virtually unworn.
I will offer this watch for $6,000.00 plus insured shipping…. FTF in the GTA can be arranged!
This is not for the average ROLEX buyer on this site…. This is something totally different! For the watch aficionados’ this watch is the bomb!
