Up for sale is the elusive Seiko Red Alpinist SCVF007 with a dreamy cream dial from the 90s. This is the only second one to be listed in this forum.
This one predates even the popular SABR017 but is a watch of its own rights. This SCVF007 is powered by a then hi-beat 28,800VPH 4S caliber with a diameter of 37mm, which is smaller than 38mm dial of the SARB07 and 39mm of the new Propex Alpinist. This is the model with the date cyclop that the recent Prospex line just brought back. The lug width on this one is 19mm.
The watch is hard to come by, even harder with this condition and it is serviced last year before it came to me. The watch was in a personal collection of a well-known JDM Seiko collector.
Watch shows its age, but there is no major ding or scratch, and functions as it should. Because of the polished surface, it can appear worse than it looks because of smudges and lighting. The inner compass bezel turns smoothly and stays in place. It comes as watch only with the original Seiko bracelet with hollow end link. The bracelet with all links, not including endlinks should measure 5.75in.
I'm looking for $1,400 shipped for this fine example of the famous Red Alpinist. Feel free to ask for more photos of different lighting.
