Up for sale is this gem from my collection, the ultra slim Seiko Goldfeather. Manufactured between 1960 and 1966, this beautiful watch is extremely thin even by today’s standards. Thickness of the 60M movement is 2.95mm. Watch has possibly 18K or 14K gold hour markers as denoted by 8-point star for the Special Dial (SD) printed under “Diashock 25 jewels. You will find the same 8-point star on the Grand Seiko “First” (3180). The resemblance is uncanny!!.
Please see an article by watchandwound (linked below) for more information on these ultra thin Goldfeathers. I particularly like the one I have because of the beautiful dauphine hands which are not found on most Goldfeathers. A wonderful detail I noticed recently is that the minute and second hands are curved downwards near the edge of the dial. I can try taking a picture to show that if asked.

The seller I got it from told me that the seller in Japan, whom he got it from, sold it as serviced. I have no way of authenticating that. However, I am uploading a screenshot of my timegrapher showing the stats of the watch in dial-up position. This reading is from last fall. I would happily put it back on the timegrapher to report the latest should desired. Watch keeps excellent time.
I am a bracelet guy myself so don't know much about the strap that the watch is on but found it on the famous marketplace as Seiko NOS Genuine Teju Lizard 19mm vintage watch band NOS Seiko gold-tone buckle for around C$100.
There is a pitting mark on the caseback that would need repair should desired or maybe you can try sourcing a donor caseback from a broken goldfeather.
If experienced Seiko enthusiasts find any inaccuracy in my description, please let me know and I will fix it promptly. Buyer is advised to do his research as well.
I am asking C$490 OBO. I really prefer F2F in GTA so the buyer can examine the watch in metal but I can ship on buyer’s expense.
I have some buying/selling references here that can you can lookup. Please let me know if you have any questions, or need more pictures, and I will be happy to help.
PS: the watch roll used as background for the photos is not part of sale.
Mods: I hope I have not violated any of the new rules. If I have, kindly let me know and I will rectify.
