Selling my SBGA259 Golden Snowflake as it is getting tough out there. I am the second owner and got it from a A+ member here. I'm copying over some from his original sale post as I think it was spot on describing the watch and nothing has changed ever since I got it.
Originally a Japanese only and boutique piece, these have only occasionally been popping up at AD’s over the last year and therefore production levels relative to its sister, the quintessential SBGA211 Snowflake, are quite low. This is a rare opportunity to own a truly unique piece that’s seldom seen in the wild, and at well below retail. If you’ve always wanted a snowflake but wanted something different with a bit of opulence, this is the piece for you!
Purchased November 2019 in Ontario, so almost three full years of warranty remaining. This piece is in mint in condition and comes with the full kit.
If you don’t know much about spring drive, it’s basically a mechanical watch with quartz like accuracy of about 15 seconds +/- a due to its use of a tri-synchro regulator instead of a traditional escapement. Here’s a link that explains how this works: https://youtu.be/HoEorK6elZM. This level of accuracy would put it well ahead of any chronometer certified piece. As a result of this revolutionary movement, the seconds hands glides across the dial in one continuous motion which needs to be seen to believe. The dial speaks for itself and is becoming more and more iconic as time passes.
