With great reluctancy I would like to offer exclusively to you fine folks of the CWC my IWC big pilot 5002. (Trying to save for a Patek...)
A quick story on this one; I purchased it from a friend who is a collector while living in Vancouver. He had purchased it at an auction held in Hong Kong. Turns out this was an estate sale of collectibles from the assets of Jefri Bolkiah, Prince of Brunei during his $14.8 billion dollar embezzlement fiasco.
I don't have any proof that this was actually worn by him or anything but its an interesting history and you can take it as you wish.
Watch was purchased in the summer of 2003 in Singapore and when I bought it in 2017, it was near new. There were some lubrication issues with the 5011 slow beat movement that started occurring a little later where it would just stop. I sent it in to my watchmaker in 2018 and he confirmed the movement had hardly ever run in its existence.
He did an amazing job servicing it and it now runs perfectly. The original fish crown remains and fits to the case snug with lots of thread as the original tube was replaced.
Everything else is all original. This even comes with the original buffalo leather strap which I swapped out for a custom alligator leather for my 6 and 2/3 inch wrist and to preserve the original. Both straps will come with the package.
The outer box is beat up but the inner wood box is still pretty good. Inside the wood box, the leather is crumbling, as is expected from these IWCs from warmer climates. Comes with all the documentation as well as the servicing receipt.
The condition of the watch is near mint. The case may have the faintest mark here or there. The crystal is also in beautiful shape including the AR coating. I would easily put the condition as %97.
You'd be hard pressed to find a better example of this watch. I'm offering this one for $10,500 with the buyer paying shipping.
Let me know if you have any questions and I'll get back to you ASAP
