Purchased brand new by me circa 2000 for my brother to gift to his son.
I am pretty sure I bought it on Ebay... if not it may have come from a local bankruptcy as my close friend was a liquidator and frequently got Omega back then...
This comes as a complete kit! Try and find one like that. Tall outer box, inside metal tube... wallet (dried and peeling... go figure), blank warranty card, original card envelope plastic envelope with reference number on it, hang tag, dealer price tag... even the original vinyl head wrap.... The black Omega pillow, and the outer protective fabric sleeve... EVERYTHING!! Spare links are all present in a baggie.
I am pretty sure it was his 21st birthday present. He has worn it much of the last 20+ years, although he doesn't (and never did) always wear a watch. At least ten years ago he gave it to me to get serviced, and I entrusted it to a local watchmaker. It does not keep time well now (I am told), so you may want to get it serviced yourself once yours.
Case has all the markings of a watch worn hundreds of times. No abuse... just use. Crystal has a couple of tiny blemishes. There may be a couple of tiny dust particles etc... between the crystal and dial... probably from a mediocre watchmaker working on it. Crown unwinds, pops out and sets perfectly. Winds up fine. Date changes exactly as it should.
I had a couple of these myself around that time, mostly the chronographs. I was a collector of the Dynamic II's, but never liked the original.
Its an Omega Pilot type watch. Very polarizing at the time. People either loved Dynamics, or hated them. Now they likely collect them!
This watch is sold as is, with no warranty, implied or otherwise. Given its age, if you want to wear it regularly, it should be serviced and have the seals changed.
I am asking $1495 shipped for the watch. Shipping payment would be sent to me as the watch is in my hands and I will get it out to you. Cost will be between $30 and $70 depending on your location. The balance will be sent to my brother who has already purchased a new set of electronic drums for his son (music producer and recording engineer, as well as gifted musician and band member).
If you have any further questions, please let me know. Please assume that the watch is off by minutes or more per day, and not ask me to time it. It deserves a good new home, service and polish.
Cheers!
