Selling a true rare find, 1998 U serial Rolex 14270 Explorer 1. 36mm classic, this is the reference that came after the legendary Explorer 1016.
This particular one is a Swiss only luminova dial, these were used for short amount of time during the transition from tritium to luminova.
The watch is in awesome shape for a 1998. Case is strong and lugs are even and sharp, I do believe it’s unpolished. The Clasp (unpolished, crown is well defined) has the usual desk dive marks and bracelet links were very lightly polished (by my watchmaker) to get rid of the hairlines. Bracelet has minimum stretch.
Comes with 11 links and watch only, no box or papers.
Watch was checked and timed by my watchmaker, it’s keeping time at about plus 5 seconds a day, still within COSC standard and no need for a service.
F2F in Vancouver area preferred or can provide shipping at cost.
Asking $9000obo, would entertain Rolex and other quality trades.
