For sale is a Rolex Datejust reference 16220 with black index dial and engine turned bezel. A Datejust with a black index dial is simply a timeless classic in my opinion. I'm selling this just to have a room for my grail watch.
The serial number indicates the watch was manufactured in 1995. Overall condition is very good considering the age of the watch - thanks to the previous owner who really gave good care to this. There are some light swirl marks on the polished areas of the case and some scratches on the underside of the watch as per the previous owner. He also mentioned that there is a small chip at the edge of the sapphire crystal. Having said that, I couldn't find the spots until he pointed out. As per Rolex, this does affect the integrity of the watch. No deep dents or dings at all of course.
The previous owner took the watch in for service to an authorized Rolex dealer in 2017, and a full factory service was performed - the spring bars, crown tube, gaskets, bezel and hands were replaced - so there is no wear on the engine turned bezel. The service papers and the receipt along with the green Rolex service pouch will be provided with the watch.
Just out of my own curiosity, I also took the watch in to an authorized Rolex dealer in my city this year. They opened up the case back and confirmed that the watch is good for next 10 years.
Comes with 12 links (not including the end links) in the oyster bracelet which fits easily up to 6.9" or 17.5cm wrist size.
Price: $4,200
I prefer a local transaction in Ottawa, but can also meet up anywhere in GTA until next week (December 26).
Thanks for looking.
