Up for grabs is an Oysterquartz 17014. This model comes on the stainless steel jubilee style bracelet. The OQ is a fairly uncommon watch in general (estimated ~ 25 000 made over the 1977 - 2001 run) and the 17014 is the least common of the three Datejust variants.
This watch is an R serial dating from ~ 1987. It is in good shape both inside and out having had a complete service by RSC Toronto in 2016. In addition to a movement overhaul, the dial, hands, and crystal were replaced at that time. So it’s not all original...but it looks fabulous! The case and bracelet were also polished. The white gold fluted bezel remains beautiful and sharp. Jubilee bracelet has 12 links and will fit up to an ~ 7.5” wrist. There is a notable scratch on the caseback as you can see in the photos.
Watch comes with service card from 2016 and a sapphire display caseback from Thomas Priek / Custom Watch Concepts. It’s amazing that a quartz has a movement worth seeing, but that is a testament to the attention to detail that Rolex put into these watches! I haven’t installed the caseback yet as I was waiting for a battery change to do so. (Note that the battery from the 2016 service is still running strong but expect to need a change fairly soon.)
Offered at $4500 including overnight insured shipping.
Mostly looking for a sale but will consider trade offers.
