I thought the day would never come, but I am listing my beloved Rolex Sea-Dweller for sale (no trades at this time). It's a 'D' serial and I am its second owner. It has been worn sparingly in rotation with several other watches, and though this extra rugged model is a beater to some it's been the pride of my collection and well cared for as shown in the photos (I use G-Shocks, Orange Monsters, etc. for 'stunt/beater watches').
The enclosed photos tell the tale: this is a nice clean example with the usual 'desk diving' and other evidence of having been worn, such as the very light scratches to the left of the HEV (see pics); in short, nothing the lightest of polishing won't remove (although I wouldn't bother). I had the complete overhaul done by Rolex a few years ago, during which they installed a brand new winding crown and tested this watch to its full rated depth. Only Rolex have ever been inside this one!
Includes everything shown (except my custom coffee mug); Sea-Dweller accessory wallet, dive table, extended diver's link, and the bracelet tool that came with the watch, and Rolex inner box (shown) and outer box (not shown). Fits my large (7.5") wrist like a glove. The Sea-Dweller anchor was purchased separately by me but is included since it should go to the new owner.
Yours for $7,950. EMT or bank transfer. Watch is in Ottawa, ON.
Reason for selling
Figured I'd 'tell it like it is': I'm grail hunting. An opportunity has come up (not on CWC) the likes of which I'm not willing to pass up, to the point of listing pieces I'm otherwise unwilling or in several cases never planned to part with - you know the drill. I intend to cast a wide proverbial 'net' by listing more than I need to, in order to catch that elusive grail before it's gone. What this means is I'm likely to withdraw some listings once I've achieved my intended goal, because I don't need or intend to clear out my collection. This is just a 'heads up' that if you're really interested in one of my listings, that 'letting it sit' may not be the best approach.
