Condition
This is a 62MAS with small crown. The dial is in excellent condition. The raised indices are like mirrors. The hands have some discolouration. The crystal is in good condition, it has some cracks right in the middle, see pics. The casebook markings are faded, the serial number is intact and very legible. The case shows some scratches. The date wheel is perfect except for “1” & “2” see pics.
The bezel and bezel insert are original. The bezel turns tightly. The watch comes on a NOS tropic strap with new springbars. The watch has been fully serviced and keeps excellent time.

The 6217-8000/1, or 62MAS (autoMAtic Selfdater) was the first professional diver from Seiko in 1965. It started the diver series for Seiko that continues till today. It was the first diver in Seiko’s lineup to feature an external rotating bezel, and a water resistance of 150 meters.
