I’m looking to trade my Rolex Explorer 1016 for a white ceramic Daytona 116500. This one is an original Mk1 dial with the frog-foot Rolex crown on the dial.
My watch comes with everything shown in the pictures.
Serial 2.9m dates the watch to 1971 and the 7836 bracelet with 258 end links has a clasp code stamped 4th qtr 1971.
I purchased it from the original owner’s son. His dad bought it at a Rolex AD in Hong Kong in 1977 (papers are dated Oct 9, 1977), and subsequently moved to Canada and put it in a safe for 40 years.
The watch is in amazing condition, the dial is absolutely mint, the patina is original lume and all matches, and the bracelet has little to no stretch (and has all 13 links).
This is an incredible example of the iconic 1016 reference. I truly believe the watch to be unpolished. I’m happy to send macro shots of each lug and lug hole. The case is really sharp - you can almost cut your fingers on the edges of the lugs and bezel.
I’ve owned this one for a while, as its been one of my favourite pieces in my collection. Keeps bang on time - as good as if not better than any modern Rolex I’ve had.
Again, I’m looking for a trade for a white Ceramic Daytona. Thanks
