I had previously listed this watch for sale and recently got it back in a trade. This one sold quickly and I recall receiving a couple messages from interested parties following the sale, so here’s a second chance at owning this fantastic watch.
The original, unrefinished dial is well preserved with even patina. The railtrack dial is quite uncommon and gives the watch a very sharp look.
The individual who purchased the watch had the case polished to remove some of the scratches. I think it was done quite well. Observatory and stars are clearly visible on the medallion.
Inside is a cal. 551 automatic chronometer movement. The seconds hand was jumpy when I bought the watch so I had my watchmaker fix the issue. Service history is unknown but the watch is keeping good time.
SN: 17,xxx,xxx - dating the watch to ~1960.
