A piece that needs no introduction! I recently acquired another grail Speedmaster, and according to the wife I now have too many. My loss could be your gain!

Movement #3059XXXX suggests September 1970 production. Calibre 861; manual wind. Watch does keep time (though I do not have an timegrapher to measure accuracy). The chronograph functions properly. Service history unknown.

Overall condition is good. I purchased this watch from the long time owner in the US and it is presented as found.

The dial is very good. Correct C1 stepped variant with “open S” stamped logo and short indices. Lume is mostly intact and features a nice patina. Though I wouldn’t consider it tropical, a brown undertone is present in direct light.

The hands are fair/poor. Though they appear to be original, the lume has become discoloured and paint loss is evident (especially on the minute hand).

The bezel is good +. Correct and original DON (Dot Over Ninety). Some minor imperfections but very presentable. Fun fact: a short time after this watch was produced, Omega began fitting Speedmasters with the DNN (Dot Next to Ninety) “error 220” bezel.

The crystal appears to be an unsigned generic replacement and has scratches and imperfections.

The case is fair. Though the lines are fairly sharp, some micro scratches, flea bites, and a ding on the midcase at 9:30 holds it back.

The case back is good. Correct etched Hippocampus logo and 145022-69ST marking. Some deeper scratches caused by someone attempting to unscrew the case back without the proper tool.

The pushers and crown may or may not be original. If not, they at least appear to be older service replacements.

Offered head only fitted with a leather Bulang & Sons strap. NB: I do have several vintage Omega bracelets (1171/633, 1175/640, 1116/575) available for additional cost.

Asking $6900 + insured shipping via FlagShip. F2F in the London area also possible.

Positive feedback here on CWC and references available if required. Please do not hesitate to ask further questions or request additional photos. Cheers!
