Up for sale is my 16610 tritium dial U-serial Submariner from 1997. I acquired the watch a couple of months ago from a dealer in Seattle. He recently purchased it from its only ever owner and then had it serviced before selling it to me. What’s special about this set is that the owners name is on the original bill of sale (dated Nov 22, 1997) and on credit card receipt (dated Nov 22, 1997), and his name is also on the recent insurance appraisal (dated July 2, 2018) – all proving that this was a one owner watch throughout the watch’s life. I’ve never seen a full set come with the original credit card receipt. Very cool.

The service papers are dated July 24, 2018 showing a cost of $300 and the CW21 watchmaker’s name that serviced it is (a CW21 is like a master chef in watchmaking), and well as the dealer’s name (who I bought it from).

The watch comes with everything show in the pictures. Box inner and outer boxes, both hand tags, and anchor, and all paperwork. I’ve removed two links to fit it to my wrist. Both extra links were a bit worn from the edge of the clasp hitting those two links over the years. The rest of the links and the bracelet are in great condition with no stretch.

The serial number is listed on both the original Rolex green certificate and the green handtag. The dial is absolute beautiful, and the patina on the markers are turning creamy. The pearl on the bezel has turned to a cream colour. Also the insert has a greyish/blue/black fade to it – its hard to capture it in photos but is easily noticed in real life.

For any collector looking for a 5 digit tritium dial submariner, they don’t come up often and rarely ever come this complete.

$10,200 or best offer.
