For sale is my 1969 Omega Speedmaster Professional Mark ii, Ref. 145.014, this is the rarer of the two stainless steel mark ii models that were made (the other being the plain black dial). The mark ii is truly a historical piece in that it was arguably the only watch “designed for NASA”. This is because NASA adopted the typical moon watch and then the Mark ii was designed as an alternative (using the same cal 861). Apparently NASA did not use the mark ii because they had a tight schedule and the testing would have taken too much time. This is also the only other Speedmaster (other than the moon watch) that uses the manual winding cal 861; which is part of the reason it is a “Speedmaster Professional”, and not just a "Speedmaster" as is the case with most of the other “Mark” series of Omega watches. ----------------- This watch has just returned from a COMPLETE overhaul done by a service center that specializes in Omega watches, specifically those using the cal. 861. This watch had the dial, hands, crystal, mainspring, pushers, crown, case tube and gaskets all replaced. In addition the case was lightly polished to remove surface scratches and bring back the original starburst, polished, and satin surfaces to original Omega specifications. Finally, the movement was completely dismantled, cleaned and reoiled/greased using high-end swiss Moebius oils. I believe this bracelet is original to the watch, and as such it is not in perfect condition. This particular bracelet variation is very difficult to come by and you will not see it on most of the other used mark ii’s that generally have the “new” style bracelets that were developed as replacements, however they differ largely from this original model. Anyways, I made sure that the bracelet was also serviced to ensure integrity and security on the wrist. The bracelet will fit up to an approx wrist size of 7.5”. The watch will come with the service records totaling just under $1300cad and the overhaul comes with a one year warranty that is valid until December 8, 2016. I am looking to trade down (i.e. I will take someone elses watch + money on top) or cash price is $3250cad, which will include shipping anywhere in North America Fees are to be paid by the buyer according to payment method. At the buyers expense I can also include the original dial that was replaced during the service.
