I'm selling my birth year King Seiko and want to be completely honest and transparent.
I bought this watch from a dealer in Asia this past spring. I didn't notice until after I bought it that the medallion doesn't match the watch (it's Daini while the watch is Suwa). The seller offered to refund me, but it didn't bother me much because I know these gold medallions tend to wear out. I also realized the case has been polished, but not so much that the grammar of design is lost. In fact, the watch is just stunning in person. The way it reflects the light is mesmerizing.
I just got it back from Ashton the Seikologist who did a full service and tells me he got it to 4 seconds a day accuracy with a beat rate within spec and a high amplitude. And I can confirm that after a day in my watch box it was 4 seconds fast; same after being worn for a day.
So, after all this, why am I selling it? Because I just purchased another King Seiko that's not only a birth year, it's a birth month watch. This one has to go, sadly.
Again, for transparency, I spent $1000 on this 5626 and $500 on servicing. $1500 in total. But because of the medallion mismatch, I'm willing to cut that in half.
I'm asking for $750 shipped Express Post anywhere in Canada. Coming on a black aligator calf strap and Ashton's 2 year warranty on the movement.
