Condition
Dial, hands, and crystal are excellent. There are marks on the case back. The case is nicely worn in, showing some brassing to the high points, but this is the charm of PVD watches. The movement was serviced in August with a new mainspring and crystal. All functions work. This watch resembles the Porsche-designed Orfina Tom Cruise wore in the Top Gun movies. It is also similar to the Heuer 510.501 of the era.
There isn’t much information on this particular Gallet, but it is noted that military forces in Switzerland and the USA used this model in the 1980s. This watch is unique because the case back is engraved with details of a Canadian officer serving at Camp Borden in 1980. This is the only Gallet multichron I have found with a connection to Canada's military.
