Up for grabs is a tank of a watch, my 44mm Super Chronomat ref AB0136251B1A2
This example comes with the hard to miss UTC module that is essentially another watch, fully adjustable to any secondary time zone, doing away with the pesky issue presented by half hour time zones
The aspects that set the Super Chronomat apart is the ceramic bezel, ceramic pushers, ceramic crown and of course LUMED markers on the rider tabs. In a very thoughtful manner, all 6 hands on the dial feature luminescence, a detail missed by many brands.
Equal parts aviator and diver, the watch is water resistant to 200m and features a 14.4mm height, 53.5mm lug to lug and a 22mm lug width, pictured on my 7.3” wrist for reference. I would recommend this for a wrist over 6.75”.
The rouleaux bracelet and rider tabs are what truly highlight the throwback features of this reissue with the latter making bezel turns that much easier.
Currently paired to an aftermarket Rouleaux-inspired rubber strap, it pairs perfectly with the watch making it not only more wearable but also summer ready.
In overall excellent condition there are signs of wear to some of the links on the bracelet and a minor scratch to the non crown case side, you’ll only see it at some angles; I’ve taken two pictures of that side to showcase the same.
Still under warranty, you can wear this carefree, knowing the watch is running at a robust 0s/day, with strong amplitude.
Included in the package is the watch, manual/card, UTC bracelet, AM rouleaux style strap with deployant and the box.
Rarely do these models with the UTC module show up second hand and retail on this example will cost you $14,800 + tax
