Hey folks
Up for grabs is my very good to excellent condition SBGE248G.
The watch comes complete down to boxes, tags, manual and an undated but stamped warranty card.
The watch has been worn carefully and shows very minor hairlines on the chimney, between the bezel and the crystal (likely from a cloth used to wipe the crystal) some minor scratches on the link/s near the clasp and some minor handling marks on the clasp.
The case is stainless steel with an 18k yellow gold bezel, with AR on the inner surface of the crystal.
Lumibrite flows bright on the gold hands, gold indexes and within the bezel, which is topped off with a sapphire crystal insert.
The case at 44mm can be daunting to most, yet, as is my experience with Seiko and Grand Seiko, this size does not translate to the wrist as it wears closer to a 42mm watch.
Lug to lug is a hair over 50mm and about 52mm from end link to end link.
Thickness comes in around 14.5mm 14.7mm
The clasp provides another touch of gold by way of the the gold GS medallion.
Powering the watch is the 9R66 Spring Drive movement with a 72 hours(3 days) reserve and average accuracy at ±1 second per day / ±15 seconds per month )
When I first saw pictures of the watch, I was not convinced. Since handling and wearing it, theres no doubt it’s noticeable, bold and luxurious. I pondered the lack of gold polished links on the bracelet, but this would have added far too much “bling” to the watch and rendered it ostentatious and a tad bit gauche.
This could very well be your one and only Grand Seiko and I rarely see these pop up for sale.
MSRP is $15600 plus taxes, while I’m asking $10,111
Trades down can be considered.
