Up for grabs is my a one of a kind GS Sōkō Frost.
This is a US Only Edition and as such, not available in Canada.
This is truly an eye catching piece with the 62GS case and a dial that changes drastically from a light blue to silvery white depending on lighting conditions.
Much like most GS dials, this one draws from nature and the Japanese Sekki (24 seasons) and is dubbed “Sōkō” - the season with the first frost, hence the frosted ice blue toned dial and corresponding texture.
At 40mm, these bezel-less case make for an intriguing aesthetic and are very wearable at 12.9mm thickness. The thickness is hidden on the underside of the watch and thanks to the angular slopes of the lugs, the watch sits perfectly on wrist.
Androgynous in appearance, the watch is as unisex a piece as Grand Seiko makes, honing both feminine and masculine qualities in the design language.
The quality you are afforded with GS for less than the retail cost of an entry level Rolex is baffling. Be it polishing, artistry or watchmaking, no brand does it better at this price point.
The high beat 36000 VPH movement and butter smooth sweep of the seconds hand are a joy to behold and second only to the Spring Drive movement
The watch is in very good condition with some minor blemishes i.e. surface hairlines to a couple links and a fleabite on the non crown case side.
The watch is missing the additional leather strap that usually comes included with this model. I will include a Delugs 21mm Ostrich leg strap to compensate for the same, which suits the watch far better than the original.
Included are 2 extra links, the warranty card, manuals, double box, rice paper, and hang tags.
The last sold price for this model on this side of the border was over $8000, as a full set
Ive adjusted my price to compensate for the lack of OEM strap to a bargain $7350 shipped from the GTA for this masterpiece
