Up for grabs is a true limited edition GMT created for the US market, the SBGJ261 “Peacock” with a production run of just 500 pieces.
Fashioned after the SBGJ227 “Peacock” in green, the dial features a pattern inspired by the peacock feathers and the birds tail feathers when flourished.
Appearing a navy blue in some light, indigo in others and a transition between the two, the dial plays with light in an incredible way, being achieved through a pain staking press patterning process.
The effect is almost mesmerizing and near hypnotizing, as it emerges from the centre of the dial.
The case pairing is perfectly matched by 44GS design as the geometrics from the dial echo outward into the case.
The watch comes in at 40mm x 46mm x 14mm, very wearable size for most wrists and generally wears true to size on my 7.5” wrist
Powering the watch is the Hi-Beat GMT caliber 9S86, with a smooth 36,000 VPH beat rate.
There are a few signs of wear to the non crown case side, a minor hairline to the upper left flank and a couple links on the bracelet, though the watch is in overall very good condition.
