Hey folks
Up for grabs is what I consider likely the best possible Chronograph under 3k (secondhand)
The Avigation ref L2.816.4.53.2 offers classic good looks, legibility and a robust movement from a respectable heritage brand.
The value you get with the L688 caliber beating away at 28,800 VPH is unparalleled with a column wheel movement, AR coated crystal, a beautifully crafted taupe leather and and a horologically significant subdial with the 3 minute hashes on the 30 minute counter (said to either, aide pilots with standard turns or for old school international call timers) making this the only Chronograph you might need.
At 41mm, this watch wears impeccably on wrists larger than 6.75” with a lug to lug of 48.5mm and is in excellent condition, with a very faint handling mark to the non crown case and two minor fleabites on the left bottom lug near the bezel and between 7-8 on the lower edge of the stepped bezel. Pretty much unnoticeable unless you’re looking for it.
On the timegrapher, it’s running at +1s a day and an amplitude close to 300
At retail, the watch is $3800 + tax.
I’m asking $2675 in the GTA, that’s 30% off for a 6 month old piece
