For your consideration is one of my favourite iterations of the Speedmaster, the FOIS with the petrol blue dial, ref 310.30.40.50.06.001
Drawing inspiration from the last FOIS and in turn the first CK2998, right down to the “D.O.N” bezel, this example is considered to be a significant upgrade from the previous generation that was only available on strap.
With this petroleum blue dial, you get the benefit of both a black and blue appearance as the dial appears black most of the time, except when met by natural light.
The tan lume markers, add some high contrast and legibility and at a size of 39.7mm, with a lug to lug of 48mm and a thickness of 13.38, it will suit even the more diminutive wrists.
The handset is similar to the previous generation with dauphine hands and a polished running seconds hand with appliqué vintage logo.
The 3861 movement with hacking and a smoother sweep of the chrono hand, is a nice upgrade to the previous 1861 movement.
In overall excellent condition, this watch has some minor signs of wear to the case back and rear lugs, the rest of the watch is in shape.
This package includes the triple box, speedmaster book, manual, extra links, and 3 cards.
